5 Favorite Slow Cooker Meals for Fall

Chihuahua Chili

As I type, my slow cooker, the one that I bought in 1995 (or was it 1998?) is simmering away at a Black Bean & Vegetable Stew for our supper. It’s loaded with hominy, potatoes, beans, peppers, onions, and some of that Roasted Vegetable Puree I was telling you about awhile ago. I’ll report about it soon — provided it tastes as great as it smells.

This means that I’m freed up to do other things. That’s the beauty of slow cookers, they cook while you go do something else. Here are five of our favorite slow cooker meals for fall. They are hot, filling, and perfect for the cooler nights ahead.

  1. My favorite is a Shredded Italian Beef with onion and pepperocinis. My husband’s favorite is the tried and true Roast with carrots and potatoes. I tried your Carnitas recipe a few months ago and everyone loved it! We will be having that again this week. I would really like to try the Sauerkraut, Pork and Potatoes.

  2. I love my slow cooker! Today I made beef stew in it. It is a family favorite, and it makes the house smell so good all day. Even thought I enjoy cooking, it’s great to have dinner prepared in the morning and not have to think about it all day.

  3. I made stroganoff in mine last night, it was tasty!

  4. Chicken topped in homemade spaghetti sauce and served over noodles with parmesan. Chicken taco soup. Chili. Split pea and ham. White bean and bacon. Creamy chipotle chicken from all recipes. The list goes on and on
