    • Christmas Fudge

When it comes to easy recipes, this Christmas Fudge has got to top the list. I recently made three different kinds of fudge in an afternoon, and this was by far the simplest.

Like our Two Ingredient Fudge, this one contains sweetened condensed milk, but for fun we swapped in green candy melts instead of chocolate chips. A hearty dose of holiday sprinkles makes this a fun and easy Christmas candy!

    Why Make This

It’s easy! You can whip up this Christmas Fudge recipe in just minutes on the stovetop or even in the microwave.

It’s versatile. While we’ve shown you green candy and sprinkles, there are so many different ways that you can swap in sweet chocolate chips or candy melts of different colors. Mix and match your sprinkles to suit your mood or use crushed candy canes as a fun seasonal topping. Be sure to scroll down for some specific variations!

It’s cheaper than chocolate at the store. Canned milk and candy melts are seasonal items that are a good deal this time of year. Making your own candy recipes can be a lot more affordable than buying a commercial box of chocolate.

    Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make this easy candy recipe:

ingredients to make Christmas Fudge laid out on black counter.

green candy melts – You can also use chocolate chips, baking chips, or another kind of candy melt.

sweetened condensed milk – Read the label carefully. Be sure not to confuse this with evaporated milk as the two are not the same.

Christmas sprinkles – Choose whatever sprinkles you like. There are so many fun ones to choose from! You can also use tiny Christmas candies, such as mini M&Ms.

    Variations

    • Sugar cookie fudge – use white chocolate chips, add some cake batter extract, and be lavish with the sprinkles.
    • Chocolate fudge – use dark or semi sweet chocolate chips.
    • Chocolate peppermint fudge – use chocolate chips, add some peppermint extract
    • Candy Cane fudge – use white chocolate chips, add crushed candy canes
    • Peanut Butter fudge – substitute peanut butter baking chips, sprinkle crushed peanuts over top

    Step-by-Step Ingredients

Here’s how to make Christmas Fudge:

milk and candy melts in saucepan with grey spatula.
stirring the melted mixture in a saucepan with gray spatula.
fudge mixture poured into parchment lined pan.
sprinkles scattered across the top of green fudge in pan.
    • Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
    • In a small saucepan, heat the candy melts and sweeteend condensed milk until the candy melts are completely melted. Stir until smooth.
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the Christmas sprinkles over the mixture before it sets. Don’t move or jiggle the pan as the candy melts may take awhile to set up again. Movement of the pan may jar the finish of the fudge.
    • Allow to cool completely before cutting. Refrigerate if the fudge isn’t as firm as you’d like it to be.

Store Christmas Fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. Refrigerate for two weeks. Store in the freezer for up to 2 months.

    FAQs

Why can’t I add food coloring to white chocolate chips?

Unless your food coloring is oil-based, it will not work well to color white chocolate chips. This is why we recommend your using candy melts instead. These are available in many colors and are designed to melt and set again.

    Is Christmas Fudge gluten-free?

Some sprinkles can include gluten, though the candy melts and sweetened condensed milk should be gluten-free. Be sure to read all ingredients labels to confirm.

Don’t I need a candy thermometer to make fudge?

You do not need a thermometer to make Christmas Fudge, Two Ingredient Fudge, or Fantasty Fudge with Marshmallow Cream.

    Can you freeze fudge?

Fudge should be good at room temperature for about a week, in the fridge for two weeks. Package in an airtight container and store in the freezer for up to six weeks.
