This Greek yogurt salad dressing is one that I can get really excited about. I make a big batch at the start of the week and enjoy it on salads, fish tacos, and wraps over several days.

I’ve tried it in lots of ways, but I really like it as a dressing for chick peas. So so good!

If you’ve been looking for a new dressing to top your meal prep salads or even want to quit the restaurants and enjoy a homemade Cava yogurt dill dressing copycat, then today is the day to try this recipe.

Why Make This Greek Yogurt Salad Dressing

It’s easy to make. There are just a handful of ingredients in this Greek yogurt salad dressing, mostly from the spice cupboard, so it’s easy to whip up quickly.

It’s so tasty! This yogurt dressing is delicious on salads, but also with veggie dippers. It’s an easy addition to an Easter Veggie Tray or New Year’s Appetizers spread.

It’s got protein. As you know protein is having a moment. Featuring Greek yogurt, a great budget protein, this dressing is nutritious and delicious. Go figure!

It’s a good vehicle for veggies. You know how some people don’t like veggies without a dip? This is a great option to offer. Having a yummy dip or dressing is a great way for my family to enjoy more vegetables than we normally would.

    Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious Greek yogurt dressing:

ingredients for greek yogurt salad dressing.

plain Greek yogurt – this is readily available in large tubs to get your price point down. The higher the fat content, the richer the dressing’s flavor. Plain yogurt has so many uses; it’s a great budget staple to keep on hand.

lemon juice – If you can, use fresh lemon juice. Otherwise, bottled is fine. You can even use lime juice if you’re in a pinch.

fresh garlic – Fresh garlic brings a little zip to this tasty dressing. You can use garlic powder if that’s all you have, but I recommend fresh if you can swing it.

fresh or dried dill – Both fresh or dried dill will work in this Greek yogurt dressing. Remember you’ll use less of it if you use a dried herb. You can also you a different herb if you like, like cilantro or basil.

spices – I like the warmth that ground cumin and ground cayenne pepper bring to the dressing.

olive oil – Olive oil brings another layer of flavor to this yummy dressing.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

It’s so easy to prep this yogurt dressing!

spices, yogurt, herbs, and lemon juice in white bowl.
first ingredients whisked together in bowl.
adding oil to the first ingredients in the bowl.
the completed dressing in a white bowl.
    • In a small mixing bowl or jar, whisk together the yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, dill, cumin, and cayenne.
    • Whisk in the olive oil. Taste and adjust seasonings.
    • Chill until ready to serve.

That’s all there is to it!

    Serving Suggestions

This recipe for yogurt-dill dressing was actually born out of our desire to treat friends to Fish Tacos. I wanted to have the white sauce that I’ve enjoyed when we’ve eaten fish tacos at restaurants. This is a perfect crema!

Serve it on salads, wraps, or bowls. It’s also good as part of a Vegetable Tray. You can also serve it as a substitute for Garlic Yogurt Sauce (Tzatziki).

Do you use plain yogurt or plain GREEK yogurt? Can’t wait to try fish tacos with this, sounds delish!

      Thanks!

I don’t use Greek yogurt often. Either should work, though.

I just mixed up your Yogurt-Dill dressing and my mind is spinning wildly thinking of all of the things I can use this heavenly dressing on or in! Where has this dressing been all my life? A winner for sure and I can’t wait to try it on my first attempt at fish tacos tonight.

Thanks for this great recipe and a new addition to the dinner repertoire.

We LOVE fish tacos. When I first started making them it was with shredded tortilla crusted tilapia from Costco. Now we use all sorts of fish, toppings, etc.
