Homemade Lasagna for the Freezer

Homemade lasagna is a delicious one-dish dinner that can be made ahead and frozen. This recipe for making lasagna allows you to customize it to suit your tastes.

  • 1 pound ground beef turkey, or sausage
  • 3 cups favorite spaghetti sauce
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 lasagna noodles
  • 1 batch white sauce
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese


  1. Grease a 9x13-inch pan. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Add the spaghetti sauce and set aside.
  2. Spread half the meat sauce in the bottom of the 9x13-inch pan. Sprinkle 2 cups of mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  3. Lay 4 noodles across the cheese.
  4. Add the parmesan cheese to the white sauce, whisking to combine. Pour this mixture over the noodles in the pan. Top with the remaining four noodles.
  5. Spread the rest of the meat sauce over the noodles. Top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Wrap and label the pan with baking instructions. Chill completely before freezing. The dish can be frozen up to 3 months in a refrigerator’s freezer compartment.
  7. To serve: Thaw completely in the refrigerator. Bake in a preheated 400° oven for 30 minutes. Allow to rest 10 minutes before serving.
