Notes
Nutritional values are approximate and based on 1/16 of the recipe. They do not include optional toppings.Serving Suggestions: I like to serve French toast with fruit, jam, or syrup as well as some type of breakfast protein, such as eggs, sausage, ham, or bacon.Shop Your Kitchen: There are so many different subs you can consider based on what you have.
Vary the bread. You can even use leftover hamburger or hot dog buns or rolls.
Use melted ice cream (yes really!) or eggnog in place of the milk.
Sprinkle in pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon.
To Make a Meal Prep: I often prepare this dish in plastic meal prep dishes for easy breakfasts or lunches during the week. Prep the recipe as directed, allow the steam to blow off. Divide the French toast into servings and add side dishes. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Consume within 4 days.Freeze Extra for Later: French toast is a great dish to make and freeze. Prep as directed but cool the slices on a rack. Once cool, wrap, label and freeze. To reheat: toast in the toaster, air fryer, or oven until crisp.Make a Plan for Leftovers: Promptly store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator, for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave. If you store your leftovers in clear containers, they’re more likely to get eaten.
