Scotcharoo Bars are crunchy and sweet and chocolatey, perfect for dessert or afterschool snacks. They are a delicious, gluten-free dessert that is practically addicting.
1cupbutterscotch chips or additional chocolate chips
Instructions
Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it with cooking spray.
In large, heavy pot, cook the sugar and corn syrup until boiling. Remove from the heat and add the peanut butter; stir until smooth. Add the cereal and mix well.
Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips until smooth. Spread this mixture over the top of the bars. Cool and cut into squares.
Notes
You can freeze scotcheroos (if you actually have any leftovers!) up to 4 months. Simply thaw at room temperature before serving.
