In a large nonstick skillet, cook the ground meat over medium heat until no longer pink, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in the tomato sauce and taco seasoning mix. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
Assemble the sandwiches by layering the meat mixture, cheese, cabbage, salsa, and jalapeños on each hamburger bun. Serve right away.
Notes
To make this for freezing: Store the meat mixture in a covered container in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
