A seasoned burger patty topped with melted pepper jack cheese, crispy bacon, carmelized onions, and barbecue sauce, this BBQ Bacon Burger is one you'll want on repeat.
Divide the ground meat into four equal portions and form each into a hamburger patty. Season to taste with Spice Blend. Cook the patties over a hot grill or in a hot pan until cooked through, about ten to fifteen minutes, flipping once or twice.
1 lb ground beef, 1 to 2 teaspoon hamburger seasoning
Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, heat the oil until shimmering. Add the onion and chopped bacon. Season to taste with Spice Blend. Cook, stirring, until the onion is tender and starting to brown and the bacon is crisp, about ten minutes.
1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 onion, 2 slices bacon
When the burgers are almost done, add a slice of cheese to each one and cook until cheese is melted.
4 oz pepper jack cheese (sliced)
Place each hamburger patty on the bottom half of a bun. Divide the onion mixture among the patties. Serve with barbecue sauce, tomato slices, and lettuce.
store the perishable items in separate covered containers in the fridge.
The burger patties, bacon/onion mixture, buns, and BBQ sauce can all be frozen for longer storage.
At serving time, simply cook the burgers on the grill or in a pan and reheat the onion mixture. If you want, you could even precook the patties and simply reheat in the microwave when it’s time to serve.
