Heat a griddle or heavy fry pan to 350 degrees. Grease it with melted butter or oil.

Dip the bread pieces in the egg mixture, flipping to coat.

Cook the bread in the hot griddle, for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until toasted brown. Flip the slices and continue cooking until golden brown on both sides.
Serve the French toast with optional toppings.
