So, our dinner plan changed today. Instead of the preplanned beans and rice, we ate a TV dinner. That is, the leftovers from my noon segment about freezer cooking on NBC-San Diego. Check it:

Gives new meaning to the phrase, TV dinner.

    Great job!

I felt so nostalgic watching those newscasters, we lived in San Diego for 8 years before leaving 5 years ago. Totally made my day.

  2. Susan T says

What a great comeback about the Pecan Pie. That comment came out of nowhere so I am glad you found an answer to that as I would have been so nervous if that happened to me. I recognized the female broadcaster as someone I had seen on Los Angeles newstations in the past so it is a small world.

    • Jessica says

@Susan T, the pecan pie was part of our conversation before the taping. But I can see how that would seem out of place.

  3. Congratulations! You looked fabulous!

  4. Laura C says

Great segment! The makeup looked great.

    • Jessica says

@Laura C, ha! Thanks. First thing I did after greeting my family at home was to go wash it off.

  5. Katherine says

Great job and I love your hair, it is really pretty!

    • Jessica says

@Katherine, thanks. I didn’t get it as smooth as my hairdresser would have. She might scold me next time. LOL

  6. Stephanie says

You are so awesome loved watching this. You do rock.

  7. KimH says

Way to go!! You were a natural on TV! 🙂

  8. JennaJ says

    That is awesome! Congrats 🙂

  9. Laura says

Love your segment! You look great! And also I wanted to tell you how much I love your book! I was blessed to win a copy and I’m so very inspired by your words and recipes! We have food allergies (gluten, dairy, eggs) so eating out isn’t happening right now and I feel like I spend my whole day cooking or cleaning up the mess, in addition to home schooling. I’m looking forward to making some freezer meals for some “fast food” around here! I’ve read both your blogs for a while now so I’ve been putting some of your ideas in place already. So inspiring!

    • Jessica says

Yeah! Thanks for your encouraging words!

  10. NIA says

You did great Jessica. You were so calm. Have you been on T.V before?

    • Jessica says

@NIA, I was interviewed at home for a money saving segment years ago when we lived in KC. I’ve never done live before, so I was pretty nervous. I credit God with any calm that exuded from me. 😉

  11. Dasha says

Congrats! You looked and sounded amazing! Your family should be so proud!

    • Jessica says

@Dasha, thanks! They are. My 11yo said it was the highlight of his day. lol

  12. Lari says

    Great job Jessica!

  13. Tracy says

Great job! I love your websites! I just received my book today & I’m so excited! Keep up the great work!

  14. Emily says

great job, Jessica! I found the newscasters so funny….for not any other reason except that he didn’t seem like he’d ever cooked much before and was just shocked you had six kids. Loved it. 🙂

    • Jessica says

@Emily, shocking him was one of my biggest triumphs of the day. lol

  15. Thank you so much for this amazing book, and all of your hard work…I ordered the book today and am looking forward to further learning about freezer cooking.
I have followed you for a while now and am always happy with your posts.
