What’s on MY Plate?

One of my favorite foods is plain yogurt. It goes oh so well in baked goods. And with fresh fruit and granola? Delish! I also like it plain, drizzled with maple syrup. It makes the perfect breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Recently, I made this yogurt parfait with all of the above: fresh blueberries, plain yogurt, homemade granola, and that sweet drizzle of maple syrup.

It had been a busy day of cooking and I was finally going to put my feet up. I had this pretty “staged” photo all set up, but I thought since this is all about “real meals,” I show ya exactly how it was served — on the couch, in my lap, with my feet curled up beneath me.

That apron makes a pretty good back drop, don’t it?

Needless to say, it was a great lunch and a tasty pick-me-up.

That looks good, Jessica. I love the picture. Such a unique perspective but it fits your blog so well.

  2. I haven’t had breakfast yet, those brownies look so good! Thank you for hosting. This week I shared a new chicken recipe. The sauce was good, but I was so hungry I didn’t let it reduce enough. Next time I’ll be more patient.

That looks yummy! I had to have a treat today too. I am 35 weeks pregnant with #2, and #1 is currently a snotty, runny-nosed little toddler who didn’t sleep very well. So Mama made a Decaf Mocha Frappuccino as a naptime treat.

I didn’t measure anything, but here’s my best guess:
    – 1-1/2 cups vanilla ice cream (about half of a pint, which I realize is technically 1 cup)
    – 2 tbsp. chocolate syrup
    – 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk
    – 1 packet single serve decaf instant coffee (I believe it’s about a teaspoon)

Blend. Enjoy. It tasted just as good as Starbucks, if not better. Clearance ice cream, free sample coffee, and milk and syrup from the fridge = yummy and cheap!

  6. Hi! I’m new here! I’m linking up the cake I’m making for my mother’s birthday dinner tonight.
