I believe great meals don't have to be complicated or expensive. There's a better way, and it won't take all afternoon.

I learned that if I tell hubby it has to be from the Pantry he doesn’t go wondering around the store for “oh, look at this, let’s try this” type of things.
We did have to do a run today and get supplies to finish the cookie baking for the deployed troops. I just don’t stock that much brown sugar at this time of year.
I do need to get back to doing my own baking of breads,otherwise everything is pretty much made from scratch all the time.
I am continuing this Challenge through Feb to see if we can’t use up what we brought home from my deceased Mother’s pantry.
@Juls Owings, I’m sorry to hear about your mom. 🙁
Hmmm. I learned I will never buy rice mixes or other overly processed food again even if on a sale. I learned that my husband loves it when I bake. I learned that when I pantry challenge we seem to make other wise money choices during the month. Also, I have motivated friends to say that they should pantry challenge too, so I am spreading the word about the goodness of using up what you have.
@Kjane, yeah, I had a jar of tomato salsa. Usually I make my own. Now, I’m reminded why.
I loved that I gained time with my children (3, and 16 months) because I had all of my meals planned out. I wasn’t running to the store for random things that I forgot when I was trying to wrangle said 3 year old.
@Christina K., great!
