Simply Sprinkled Sugar Cookie Cutouts

When I was first creating my 12 Days of Cookies list, I put gingerbread on the list. Not because I particularly like gingerbread, but because my kids do.

If you read my other blog, you know about the beautiful Gingerbread Buffalo that resulted from that endeavor.

So, I decided to just make a different kind of sugar cookie to give us an even 12. Once I set my mind to something, I am hard pressed to veer from it. 12 cookies it needed to be.

Another batch of sugar cookie dough coming right up. Roll ‘em, and pat ‘em, and let your kid sprinkle a boatload of sprinkles on top. Bake according to recipe directions. Cool, wrap, label, and freeze.

Delicious! And much easier than getting all the frosting mess out. Allow a liberal hand with the sprinkles and you’ve allowed your helpers adequate creative license.

Store cookies in an airtight container. They may be frozen ahead of time as well.

And there you have it, 12 different kinds of cookies without going insane!

  1. This is how we always make our sugar cookies. You’re right, so much easier than doing the whole frosting thing. Easier to make, easier to store and even less mess when you eat them.
