Greek Salad – California Style

This is one of my very favorite salads. It’s cool as a cucumber, truly. It’s full of flavors and so good for you! It’s Mediterranean flavors with a California twist. I prefer it served right away.

Do you do greek food?

  1. I married into a family with greek roots, so most meals include a greek salad. I’ve never added avocado before but I like the idea. :-)

  2. Not beyond the salad. Honestly, only tried Greek food once and the flavors just weren’t my cup of tea. I would be willing to give it another shot, but probably wouldn’t seek it out.

  3. That does look yummy … no one but ME likes feta cheese here so I don’t normally have any but now may buy a very small container to try this … thanks for sharing!

  4. I just have a silly question. Why do you remove the seeds from the cucumber? It seems like a waste and I normally use the whole cucumber for salads. Also I picked a cucumber from the garden today and the skins seems really thick. Am I growing the wrong variety or not watering enough? Would love to try this salad as I am patiently waiting for the tomatos to turn red.

    • I think it’s up to you. Often very large cucumbers have centers similar to melons, really watery and seedy. Removing them will also reduce the excess of liquid in the salad, preventing it from getting too soggy. It may be a personal preference.
