This is a great recipe. I added a spread to this that I felt gave it an awesome treat! Before adding anything on top of the pizza dough; mix together these ingredients and spread on top of dough, followed by the rest of the ingredients.
Spread: mix together
6-8 ounces of sour cream
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp of black pepper
1/2 tsp of Italian seasoning
Kelly
We’ve done green pizza. White sauce with spinach and artichokes on top, with extra parmasan before putting mozzarella on top. Lots of garlic in the white sauce. 🙂
Alicia
What do you use for sauce?
Jessica
@Alicia, no sauce. Just as it’s directed. Beans, cheese, etc. It’s not dry, though I can understand why you might wonder.

This might sound like a silly question, but how do you freeze pizza dough?
Jessica
I only let it rise for 30 minutes the first time, divide into dough balls and freeze in sandwich bags. It helps to oil the dough first. Then pull out however many you want the night before or morning of baking and put in a greased dish to thaw/rise.

this looks fantastic! I am saving it to my recipe box!

Hi, loved the post.I just came back from the mid west Mo & Ks Olathe .(daughter #2 lives off 119th st) We had a taco pizza from Caseys ( believe or not it’s a gas station for those of you not from the area) that we really liked .It had refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, ground pork, and on top you added taco sauce.I always had them precook the crust alittle more before they added the toppings.Yummy
Jessica
I lived in Olathe for 5 years and never heard of Casey’s. I missed it! 😉

I will ask my daughter if theres a Caseys around her.We have a small cottage back there about 25 miles south of Sedalia Mo that we go to every yr and I know Sedalia,Lincoln,Warsaw all have Caseys .I forgot to add they crumble doritos or like doritos on top of their pizzas too. After its baked.Yummy We hope to move back there after hubby retires about 8 yrs or so depending on the Ca construction. He’s a union carpenter (28 yrs in)and work here in San Bernadino County is REALLY bad right now so it might be 10 yrs.LOl

Hello, I am thoroughly enjoying this recipe and discussion of Casey’s amazing taco pizza! I am a lifetime Olathian and although we don’t have a Casey’s in Olathe there are many in the metro area especially some of the more rural areas. People always think I’m crazy when I sing the praises of a gas station taco pizza.

Ha! I still haven’t been able to figure out what it’s like. Is it baked with the toppings?
Nancy
sounds good. our most recent pizza experiment was a new favorite — 1/4 c. of ranch instead of red sauce + chopped, cooked chicken + a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar + chopped, cooked bacon and diced tomatoes. very, very yummy.
Kelly
@Nancy, That sounds delicious! I think we’ll try it!

This is totally something that I could do on Friday nights with the kids instead of regular pizza! I think they would love it!
