Ultimate Recipe Swap: What’s YOUR Favorite Flour Recipe?

by Jessica on March 4, 2010

As a compliment to the Frugal Pantry series here, today’s your chance to share your favorite flour recipe over at LifeasMOM.

I always have a hard time choosing a “favorite.” I mean there are so many things that my family goes wild over. Like:

Breakfast Cookies - A great way to eat the first meal of the day on the run, these include dried fruit, flax seed meal, pepitas, nuts, sesame seeds, and unprocessed sweeteners. Nutrition in a cookie? I sure hope so!

Garlic Foccacia - This bread is amazingly soft and tender. There is rarely any leftover, but when there is, I make it into croutons. So yummy! The baked bread also freezes well.

Sweet Cherry Pie – I made a cherry pie lover out of my husband last summer when I made this pie. Cherries were a screaming deal in these parts, something crazy like $.69/pound, so I spent several afternoons staining my fingers pitting cherries to make pies and to have cherries to freeze for later.

The “newest” thing I’ve made lately was a tweak on my Gramma’s Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip cookie recipe: White Chocolate Walnut Cookies. I healthified it with sucanat and whole wheat pastry flour. That should balance out the white chocolate chips I threw in, dontcha think?
